When you run your hands over your face, does your skin feel soft and smooth or rough like sand paper? If it feels rough, the top layer of your skin may be cluttered with dead skin cells that are making your complexion dull and uneven. At Spa 361 at the Dermatology and Skin Cancer Institute, we are proud to offer cosmetic services like noninvasive skin resurfacing with microdermabrasion. Fast and effective, microdermabrasion treatments remove the outer layer of damaged and dead skin so your complexion is brighter and healthier. This procedure can be used alone or with another cosmetic treatment, like a dermal filler or chemical peel, for more dramatic improvements. During your consultation, one of our experienced aestheticians will create a unique treatment plan for your specific skin concerns and cosmetic goals.
"My teenage daughter and I are both patients of Dr. Kasper. The reception area is modern and bright. The reception area staff is always welcoming. Dr. Kasper is friendly and efficient. Wait time is short, which I appreciate. I am thinking about booking an aesthetician appointment or two in the near future."- M.A. / Yelp / Jun 30, 2019

"Dr. Saxema and staff made my MOHS surgery as pleasant as possible! I will happily recommend them to anyone who asks. I received excellent care from everyone throughout the entire process. Dr. Saxema is highly skilled and caring."- L.G. / Facebook / Jun 08, 2019
"I would highly recommend Dr. Kasper to anyone who needs a dermatologist. Unlike other dermatologists I have seen, he spent time with me during my visit to listen to everything I was dealing with. He came up with a comprehensive treatment plan and even addressed other problems my past derm did not find. He also focused on getting to the root cause rather than just covering up the symptoms."- J.M. / Google / Jun 05, 2019
Microdermabrasion treatments can improve the appearance of many types of surface skin issues, including dull skin tone, fine lines, uneven texture, clogged pores, scars, and sun damage. It is safe for people of all skin tones and types that want healthier, clearer skin. These treatments are most often performed on the face but can also benefit the skin on your hands, neck, and chest. This procedure should not be performed on skin that has an open wound or if you have a chronic condition, like acne or rosacea.
Microdermabrasion treatments are performed in both of our Spa 361 at the Dermatology and Skin Cancer Institute locations. During the treatment, you will relax in a comfortable chair as your skin is cleaned and prepared. Then, your aesthetician will pass the microdermabrasion handpiece over your skin to gently abrade the surface with fine crystals and simultaneously vacuum away the used crystals and dead skin. Though the treatment feels odd, it should not be painful. Most patients do not need a numbing cream or local anesthesia. The microdermabrasion will be performed evenly over your chosen areas, with more care and sensitivity around the eyes. Once the treatment is complete, your skin will be lightly cleansed to remove any residue, and then a moisturizer and sunscreen, selected for your skin type, will be applied.
What to Expect
After a microdermabrasion treatment, you can immediately resume your normal activities, but you need to wear sunscreen or another form of sun protection because your skin will be sensitive. Your face should feel smoother, and your tone should be brighter and more even. To maintain your results, we recommend having these procedures every 4 – 6 weeks. Many patients of Spa 361 at the Dermatology and Skin Cancer Institute notice that after their microdermabrasion treatments, their home skin care products (especially serums and creams) absorb more easily into their skin.
